O'Malley is a leader on this year's 'Operation Transformation'
Operation Transformation community walk takes place this Sunday in Castlebar.
Castlebar woman Edel O’Malley was announced as one of five new 'Operation Transformation' leaders ahead of the show's return earlier this month, and now the community of Castlebar will take part in a walk to support Ms O'Malley on her journey.
The walk will set off at 3pm this Sunday, January 28, from Lough Lannagh leisure centre.
O’Malley, who works in HR at Ashford Castle in Cong, feels like she is 'stuck in a rut'. With a busy work life and a one-year-old son, she can't seem to find the time to exercise.
Although not a fan of running, she is committed to running the 5k at Phoenix Park this year.
Speaking about the challenge on RTÉ.ie, Edel said she is ‘looking forward to bringing some positivity and motivation regarding health and fitness into [her] life’. She is determined to prioritise her well-being and ‘become a healthier and more energetic Mam for [her] son’.
"I am thrilled to be chosen to be a leader and hope to inspire some people along the way on their own journeys” she concluded.
