The Leeson Enterprise Centre will host the first Open Day for remote working in Mayo
Business owners and startups in Mayo have a date to mark in their calendar: The first ever Open Day to promote remote and hybrid working in this county will take place next Friday, February 2 from 10am to 1pm in the Leeson Enterprise Centre in Westport.
This centre provides a hub for innovation and business to help entrepreneurs and start-ups to grow and develop their businesses.
The event is sponsored by Mayo County Council and Connected Hubs and will be especially relevant for all businesses owners in Mayo, particularly startups.
Cathaoirleach of Mayo County Council, Cllr Michael Loftus, will officially start the proceedings at 10am detailing the significance of centres such as the Leeson Enterprise Centre and how they can support remote and hybrid work.
Next will be Sarah Butler from Castlebar, who will share how she used her business skills to move from a highly successful wedding stationery business, which collapsed during the pandemic, to her new role as celebrity chef, author of three cookbooks, influencer and broadcaster.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) was the most searched word on Google in 2023. Award winning Marketing Coach, Muireann Fitzmaurice will give a talk on ‘Marketing and AI – what is Artificial Intelligence and how does AI work for your business’. Stephen Carolan, National Hub Network Programme Manager will outline what is next in store for hub users and those curious about learning more.
A panel discussion chaired by Louise McDonnell, Social Media Strategist and Coach will explore how start-ups, business people and community groups can use traditional and social media to expand their network, increase sales and market share and develop new ways of working. Mayo County Council Director of Services, Joanne Grehan, will join the panel conversation to give a broader perspective.
If you would like to attend this Open Day which will take place in the Leeson Enterprise Centre, Westport on Friday, February 2, from 10am to 1pm, please come along on the day.
