Mayo man honoured at DCU Alumni Awards

Tuohy was honoured at the award ceremony last week.

Dublin City University presented an outstanding Alumni Award to Mayo man this past Friday.

Kevin Tuohy, Director of Software Engineering, IT People & Finance at Aer Lingus, was a recipient of one of the awards, which recognise those who have achieved excellence in their chosen fields of work through their exceptional ability and leadership.

Those ackowledges at the awards represent all five faculties of study at DCU (Business, Humanities and Social Sciences, Education, Science and Health, Engineering and Computing).

At the ceremony in The Helix in Dublin last week, DCU President Professor Dáire Keogh said he was “delighted to present these awards to a special group of DCU alumni who have done exceptional things in diverse fields”.

Ross Munnelly, Director of Alumni Relations at DCU, continued: "Each awardee through their own contribution helps to make the world and society a better place for us all. We have seen this through their achievements to date, they are proven leaders and who continue to inspire the next generation of graduates at DCU.”

Following his graduation in 1999, Tuohy, a native of Foxford who now lives in county Cavan, set off stateside. He began his career in New York, before returning to Ireland in 2002 to become technical lead at Cúram Software. Over the two decades since, across a number of roles, Kevin has evolved a distinct style of leadership with a keen focus on delivering exceptional customer value. Today, he leads a team of over 300 professionals at Aer Lingus.
