They will bring 'High School Musical' to their school's stage.
It is that time of year again, when Rice College boys join forces with the Sacred Heart School girls to produce the annual TY musical.
The Westport students will be heading right back to the early 2000’s as they put on their TY musical, ‘High School Musical’. After months of hard work and rehearsal, the live performances will finally take place next Monday 22, Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 of January, at 7.30pm.
The audience is invited on a journey of dazzling performances and musical dreams as the incredibly talented students are set to bring the enchanting world of Disney’s High School Musical JR to life. It tells the story of the blossoming relationship between Troy, a high school jock, and Gabriella, the new smart girl at school.
Troy and Gabriella meet on a family holiday and gain interest in one another after singing in a karaoke competition together. Rediscovering each other at school, their relationship and their surprise decision to audition together for the school show are thwarted by the school’s current leading lady, Sharpay, and Troy and Gabriella’s well-meaning friends.
Eventually, Gabriella and Troy find a way to be themselves and are rewarded with the lead roles in the school show. Full of catchy songs and exciting dance routines, this musical explores issues of friendship, first love and acceptance.
The leading duo, Annie Gillespie (Gabriella Montez) and Cormac Slattery (Troy Bolton), are ready to captivate you with their talent and dedication.
Other main cast members include: Tara Horkan (Sharpay Evans), Eoghan Moran (Ryan Evans), Cillian Murphy (Chad Danforth), Hannah McCafffery (Taylor Mckessie), Zack Monsour (Zeke Baylor), Grace O'Brien (Martha Cox), Laoise Cawley (Kelsi Neilsan), Aine Brogan (Ms Darbus), Jack Walsh (Coach Bolton), Colm Cadden (Jack Scott), Brendán Witzl (Moderator), Anna O'Grady (Ms Tenny).
