Difficult travelling conditions are promised tomorrow, as there is a status yellow weather warning in place for Mayo until 6pm tomorrow (Thursday) evening.
According to Met Eireann, temperatures tonight will dip to minus three degrees and there is light sleet or snow showers expected during the night, so drivers should be aware of slippery roads conditions tomorrow morning
It is due to clear up a bit during the day with the highest temperatures expected in Achill (six degrees) Ballinrobe, Ballyhaunis (five percent) and Westport (four degrees).
The sun might break through now and then in the northern half of Mayo during the day. The best chances to get a few hours of winter sun will be in Louisburgh, Ballindine and along the border with Galway tomorrow.
Weather conditions are going to stay difficult. Even though temperatures are to rise to twelve degrees over the coming weekend, there is a lot of rain expected with heavy showers across the whole county on Sunday.
