Dispose of your tree sustainably at Mayo County Council drop-off points

Christmas tree recycling service for Dundalk residents

There are 12 locations around Mayo county to recycle your tree.

Christmas has come and left again, and it's time to take down the decorations and dispose of your tree.

Mayo County Council have organised 12 drop off points around the county where you can recycle your tree as part of their #mywaste initiative.

The points are as follows:

Achill- Beside the bottle banks at Keel.

Ballina- Reception area at Rathroeen landfill site (Contact 096 75959 for opening times).

Ballinrobe- Mayo County Council area office depot.

Ballyhaunis- Beside bottle banks in the car park.

Belmullet- Civic office car park, Church road.

Castlebar- Municipal district depot at Moneen (use rear entrance).

Turlough- Horkans garden centre.

Claremorris- Car park at area office, Kilcolman road.

Louisburgh- Car park, Chapel street.

Newport- Recycling centre at Derrinumera landfill site (contact 098 41632 for opening times).

Swinford- Mayo County Council pound, Kilkelly road.

Westport- Council depot, Ballinrobe road, (8.00am to 4.30pm).


The recycling locations are open until Saturday, January 20. Make sure all decorations are removed from the tree prior to recycling.
