History made in Ballina as five brothers play in annual Ballina RFC match

THE FAMOUS FEENEYS: Sally, Meghan, Luke, Oliver, Finbarr, David, Daniel, Niall and Shannon Feeney were all in Heffernan Park for Ballina RFC's annual Aubrey Bourke Cup final

History was made in Ballina on St Stephen's day when five Feeney brothers lined out for the President's XV in the annual Aubrey Burke Cup final at the local rugby club. Luke, Oliver, David, Daniel and Niall were all on the winning side with all five contributing to a crucial late try scored by Daniel, which helped the men in green to a thrilling 27-24 win.

The quintet were roared on by their three sisters, Sally, Meghan and Shannon, and father Finbarr while their mother, Fiona kept the home fires burning.

Meghan and Shannon returned from Australia to witness the historic moment and they were very proud of their talented brothers when the final whistle sounded to give the President's XV their first victory in the fixture since the 2007/08 season.
