MAYO'S Oscar Traynor Cup clash with Roscommon has been scuppered by Storm Fergus as all soccer fixtures in Connacht have been cancelled today (Sunday).
The Connacht FA announced the cancellation of fixtures on foot of a Status Orange wind warning issued by Met Éireann, which is to remain in place from 3.00pm to 8.00pm for counties Mayo, Galway and Clare. Roscommon has been issued with a Status Yellow wind warning that is to remain in place until Sunday night.
In a statement, the Connacht FA said the decision was 'taking into account the health and safety of players, management, match officials and supporters'.
With two wins from their opening two games, Joe Kelly's Mayo only needed a draw to secure top place in the Connacht section of the Oscar Traynor Cup.
A re-fixed date for this cancelled fixture has yet to be announced.
