Westport-based artist to launch sixth card collection in Westport

Artist Maitiú Quinn

WESTPORT based artist Maitiú Quinn will be launching his sixth card collection in time for Christmas in the Wyatt Hotel this Thursday.

Maitiú Quinn, who lives in Knappagh outside Westport, has built an impressive reputation as an artist with his own business 'MaitsWorld' selling unique cards with his artwork.

Maitiú, who has Down Syndrome, will launch his sixth card collection entitled 'Everyday Life' in the Wyatt Hotel in Westport this Thursday, December 7 at 5pm.

“Painting is my passion. I like the world. I like to feel the world. I like to talk about the world. Sometimes I think it’s really hard to figure out the world. I’m a card designer. My cards have my pictures and my words. I want to share them with people and I hope you will enjoy them,” he explained.

Maitiú's previous card collections have proven to be big hits among the public and it is expected that his sixth collection will be no different. He describes himself as an 'artist, actor and businessman' whose love of art was sparked by his sister Annie, who is also an artist.
