Ballina's Murray brothers line out in two separate provincial semi-finals this weekend

THE Murray brothers from Ballina will lineout for two different teams in two provinces on Saturday next. Mikey is joint captain of the Ballina Stephenites team who take on Corofin of Galway in the Connacht senior semi-final in Pearse Stadium, Salthill, at 2pm while his brother Brendan will line out with Scoil Úí Chonaill (Clontarf) in the Leinster intermediate semi-final against Rathkenny (Meath) in Navan at 1.30pm. Both will likely be sporting the No 12 jersey!
Mikey and Brendan are sons of Mary and Gus Murray. Gus hails from Lissiniskea, Bekan, where his brother Luke, a retired principal of Fairymount NS, has been to the forefront in the Eastern Gaels club and served as chairman for a number of years. Mary hails from Roscommon.

Mikey Murray will be action for Ballina Stephenites against Corofin next Saturday afternoon.

Mikey scored a goal for Ballina in their quarter-final win over Fulham Irish in Castlebar on Saturday night while Brendan was player of the match in Scoil Uí Chonaill narrow one point win over the Louth champions, Roche Emmetts, in the Leinster quarter final. It will be a very special day for the Murray family circle as they keep tabs on both matches this Saturday. The Ballina v Corofin game will be live on RTE1 at 2pm.
