The man is being detained at a Garda Station in the west.
Gardaí investigating alleged online threats against public representatives have arrested a man.
The man, aged in his 40s, has been arrested for an alleged offence contrary to the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997 and is being detained under Section 4 Criminal Justice Act 1948 at a Garda Station in the west of Ireland. An Garda Síochána is not providing any further information at this time.
