The evening will begin with a Woolcraft Experience in the museum with tours running on the hour at 4pm, 5pm and 6pm, suitable for all the family. The guides and crafters will bring the traditional cottage wool crafts to life during the tours.

There will be a special event for children with a Storytelling Session from 4-5pm. Musician Liam Foody will be playing live music in the cafe from 4-7pm. A Traditional Baking Demonstration with Aine O'Toole and Patrick Salmon will take place from 5.30 - 6pm, followed by tea and scones in the Killary Cafe where you can enjoy scenic views of Killary Harbour. All events are first come, first served.

The Sheep & Wool Centre was founded in 1992 by Michael and Kathleen O'Toole with a view to preserving and protecting the traditions and skills of the sheep and wool industry in Connemara. Michael O'Toole had vast experience of the subject over a long career as an agricultural scientist specialising in sheep. For the past 31 years this family business has welcomed visitors to its museum, shop and cafe. The wool craft experience has welcomed many visiting groups, schools and families over the years from all over the world. The café is renowned for its homemaking and the shop has a broad range of gifts and crafts. Michael and Kathleen's daughter, Áine and her husband Greg manage the centre.

Aine commented: “We are really excited to be taking part in this national event, Culture Night, for the first time and to be able to offer a free programme of events to our customers, old and new, from nearby and further afield.  Everyone is welcome and we are looking forward to seeing you on the September 22.
