Achill album launch to support childhood cancer charities

Uileann Piper, Seán Lynch will launch his new album in Achill on Saturday, September 24

Childhood cancer charities will be supported at the launch of a new 10-track album 'Chongie Road' by local Achill musician, Séan Lynch at the Wavecrest Hotel, Dooagh on Saturday, September 23.
This unforgettable evening promises an exhilarating fusion of music, community and charity as local and visiting talent come together to support a major charity fundraising drive.

The event will be an immersive musical experience, featuring captivating live performances by local Uileann Piper, Seán Lynch and special guests as well as some of Achill's most talented musicians including The Achill Lads, Bríd McLoughlin and Aoife Fadian. Guests can expect a night filled with foot-tapping tunes, ballads and an atmosphere that celebrates the vibrant musical culture of the island. Doors open at 7.30pm for Ireland's big rugby match against South Africa on the big screen with the concert beginning directly afterwards. Tickets for the launch can be purchased in outlets across Achill for €10 and a limited number will be available on the door.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and it serves as a poignant reminder of the challenges faced by young cancer patients and their families. The event will also mark the launch of a major fundraising initiative that aims to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children with cancer and their caregivers by supporting three worthy charitable causes - St John's Ward, Crumlin, Aoibheann's Pink Tie and local charity, Gearóid's Smile.

To contribute to this cause and be in with a chance of winning the top prize of a trip for two to New York including flights and four-star accommodation as well as other great prizes please visit the online fundraising page at www.idonate.ie/raffle/ childhoodcancerfundraiser. Your generosity can make a world of difference. Tickets for this raffle, which will take place this December, start at €10 each.
