Belcarra native Luke Nicholas is set to leave Sligo Rovers
FORMER Manulla goalkeeper Luke McNicholas is set to sign for English League Two outfit Wrexham.
The Irish Independent has reported that the Belcarra native is set to move across the Irish Sea from Sligo Rovers, who he joined in 2018.
Wrexham are reported to be in 'advanced talks' to complete a £100,000 deal to sign McNicholas.
McNicholas had loan spells with Finn Harps and Clifdonville in 2021 during his stint with The Bit O'Red.
The former Republic of Ireland underage international was Rovers' first-choice keeper last year after Ed McGinty joined Oxford in the middle of their European campaign.
Wrexham - who were recently taken over by Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney - already have an Irish contingent that includes James McClean, Thomas O’Connor, Eoghan O’Connell, Anthony Forde and Liam McAlinden.
