Cloonfad native Comdt Caroline Burke has been appointed as Aide de Camp to An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar.
News of the appointment, was announced by Mr Varadkar last week, was warmly welcomed in Caroline’s home village.
Caroline joined the Defence Forces in 1995 and has been the recipients of various awards. She has served with the United Nations Peace Keeping Missions in the Balkans, West Africa and the Middle East. She also holds a BSc in Sports and Exercise and a Master of Science in Exercise and Nutrition Science.
“I am delighted to be appointed to my new role. It is a huge honour to represent the Office of the Taoiseach and the Defence Forces and I greatly look forward to carrying out the duties and engagements that the role involves,” said Caroline.
