CLAREMORRIS man Eamonn Keaveney has broke the World Record for the longest barefoot walk.
The 23-year-old began his journey in May and completed an approximate journey of 1,250 miles around Ireland last week.
Keaveney kept GPS records and log books of his walk in order to verify his world record for Guinness.
The previous record belonged to Michael Essign from Germany who walked 1,448km (900 miles) bare-foot back in 2013.
Eamonn passed the 1,448 km mark while walking through Ballynahinch, Co Down on Wednesday last.
The teacher undertook the grueling challenge after looking though the Guinness Book of Records and all money raised as part of his trek around Ireland will go towards suicide prevention charity Pieta House.
Eamonn covered roughly 12 to 15 miles per day on a journey which saw him travel through Mayo, Donegal, Derry, Waterford, Limerick and many more counties.
Eamonn persevered through strained tendons and swollen arches to complete the journey and raise over €5,000 for Pieta House.
His sister Yvonne and others joined Eamonn for parts of the walk, but he did most of the journey solo.
