Burrishoole Walking Festival is organised by local volunteers and is a very unique walking festival, taking you right into the heart of Burrishoole. Local knowledge of the Burrishoole area is a very important part of gaining the proper experience and all of the festival’s trained guides are from the area. The majority of guides are local farmers and as such their knowledge of the local heritage, folklore, customs and flora and fauna is invaluable. For more, see the festival website, www.burrishoolewalkfest.net, or follow it on Facebook.
