Woman charged with theft from Bohola Parochial House

A woman appeared in court where she was charged with the theft of €600 from the Parochial House in Bohola


A WOMAN charged with stealing €600 from the Parochial House in Bohola told gardaí, ‘I’m getting charged for nothing’.
Rosie Maughan (26) of 5 Naomh Ceallach, Kilkelly, appeared before Judge Mary Devins in Castlebar District Court, where she was charged with theft from Fr Stephen O’Mahony in the Parochial House in Bohola on July 4, 2015.
Garda Paula Killeen told the court she arrested Ms Maughan on August 3 at 1.55pm for the purpose of charging her. Her reply after she was charged was ‘I’m getting charged for nothing’.
Her solicitor Peter Loftus told the court that the charge will be contested, and Ms Maughan elected to be tried before the District Court. Judge Devins adjourned the case until November 3 for hearing.
