A FLIGHT FROM Ireland Westport Airport Knock to Manchester was diverted to Dublin last Friday after smoke was suspected in the cabin.
Flybe says that the pilot of flight BE-664 took the decision to divert to Dublin after the toilet smoke alarm was activated.
In keeping with procedure, emergency vehicles were placed on standby at Dublin Airport ahead of the arrival of the plane that was carrying 74 passengers.
The plane landed safely shortly after 5.40pm with all passengers then disembarking.
The airline says that the aircraft is currently being inspected by engineers to investigate the reason for the alert.
A spokesperson for Dublin Airport said that the flight landed without incident and the incident was stood down shortly after 6pm.
