Gardaí investigating Westport break-ins

GARDAÍ are again appealing to residents in Westport to be on high alert after a series of break-ins occurred across the town last week.
All the houses that were broken into - in Knappaghbeg, Sandyhill and The Fairways and two houses in King’s Hill - were unoccupied at the time.
The first of the break-ins took place in King’s Hill on Wednesday, April 1, at some stage between 8.30am and 7pm when entry was gained through a back window.
However, nothing was taken from this house. A second house in the area was also broken into through a back window.
Also in recent days, Sterling was taken from a house in Knappaghbeg and a small sum of cash was taken from a house in the Fairways when double doors were forced open by the culprits. All homeowners are asked to be vigilant.
Anyone with information on any of the break-ins is asked to contact Westport Gardaí on 098 50230.
