Sun seekers from the west of Ireland will have another warm weather destination to choose from with Ireland West Airport Knock set to operate weekly flights to Turkey.
Irish owned tour operator, Sunway Holidays, will operate direct weekly services to the Mediterranean city of Izmir which is the gateway to the holiday resorts of Kusadasi, Bodrum, Bitez, Gumbet and Altinkum.
Irish company Sunway Holidays will operate direct services to Izmir every Saturday from September 12 to October 24.
Turkey has become a popular sun destination for many Irish holidaymakers, mainly due to the great value of the resorts and the region’s stunning natural beauty and its historical and archaeological sites. Turkey has over 8,000km of coastline, in excess of 350 blue flag beaches and marinas offering a variety of water-sports.
Commenting on this new service, Tanya Airey, Managing Director of Sunway Holidays, said that Kusadasi is a particular favourite for tourists. “Kusadasi, the most popular resort, is one of the largest and best known of the Aegean Sea holiday resorts in Turkey and has been the most popular resort for Irish tourists for many years. It is a port city built along the shores of a bay and offers an abundance of activities including historical and religious excursions, shopping, water sports, excellent restaurants, bars and nightclubs. Kusadasi also has two waterparks making it an appealing destination for families also,” she commented.
