A Victorian residence set on 30 acres of land in Killala is among the 192 lots of properties to go under the hammer in the latest Allsop Space auction.
The auction will take place in Dublin’s RDS tomorrow, October 22. Over 1,000 people are expected to attend.
Millars House in Killala dates back to the 18th century, and its reserve range is set at €525,000 to €575,000. According to Robert Hoban, Director of Auctions with Allsop Space, there is considerable interest in the property.
Mr Hoban said that the property market in Mayo is picking up, but that there was still a ‘long road ahead’.
“The market is following similar trends to those around the country, and it is picking up in the bigger towns. There’s a demand for farmland, but rural housing is still struggling. Castlebar, Ballina and Westport sales are picking up, and that’s good to see,” said Mr Hoban.
Other properties in the county going for auction include a Ballyhaunis creche, a retail warehouse in Castlebar, two houses in Castlebar and a property in Knock.
The Ballyhaunis property is located in The Maples housing development in the Hazelhill area of the town. It carries a reserve of €110,000 to €130,000.
The retail warehouse in the Moneen Industrial Estate has a reserve of €200,000 to €240,000 and is set over 17,000 square foot.
The reserve on each of two semi-detached houses on the Pontoon Road in Castlebar is €80,000. The four-bedroom homes are located at 54 and 55 Rosmore. Allsop Space has stated that number 55 is subject to tenancy, with the current rent set at €7,200 annually.
A mid-terrace four-bedroom home in Carramore Drive, Knock, is also up for auction, with a reserve of €45,000.
Over the border in Cornamona, a lot of three detached houses has a reserve of €80,000. The three-bed detached houses require completion and are located on a 1.7 acre site.
