A man who climbed a 290-metre tower in Ballinrobe was brought to safety after gardaí and the fire brigade attended the scene.
Man scaled Ballinrobe tower
A MAN was brought to safety after scaling the Eircom Tower in Ballinrobe in the early hours of Monday morning.
Gardaí and the local fire brigade attended the scene adjacent to the town’s park, known locally as ‘The Green’. The incident took place at approximately 4.30am.
Gardaí driving past the tower noticed the male, who is in his 30s, on the tower which measures at 290 metres.
Gardaí talked the male down and he was eventually brought to safety. He has not been charged in relation to the incident.
