IF you have ever wanted to own your own island then a property auction being held in Dublin later this month is the place to be. Duvillaun Beg island is among the 262 lots in the Allsop Space auction, which will take place on September 16 in the RDS.
The island, which carries a reserve price of €100,000, comprises approximately 55.8 acres of agricultural land and is located 2.4km from the mainland, close to Fallmore Beach. It is accessible by boat from Blacksod Pier.
Duvillaun Beg is just one of many lots in Mayo in the auction. Two properties in Ballyhaunis are also up for sale: one industrial unit on the Clare Road, formerly used as a builders’ providers, has a reserve of €100, 000 to €120,000. The lot includes a warehouse facility and a series of storage buildings that extend over 5.2 acres.
Two further properties for sale in Ballyhaunis include a three-storey mid-terrace building on Main Street in the town with a reserve of  €45,000 and an end-of-terrace ‘mixed-use’ building with a reserve of €20,000.
In Charlestown, a mid-terrace building is reserved at €25,000. The building contains a two-bedroom apartment on the ground floor and with two one-bedroom apartments on the first floor.
Meanwhile, across the border in Clonbur, nine houses are for sale for €575,000. The lot is comprised of six three-bedroom houses and three two-bedroom terraced holiday homes.
