Belmullet gardaí appeal for information on alleged assault
GARDAÍ in Belmullet are appealing to the public for assistance in what they are describing as an alleged assault.
A 17-year-old male was in hospital yesterday (Monday) after an alleged assault which is said to have occurred in the Geesala area on Sunday night at approximately 11.30pm.
Gardaí preserved the area overnight on Sunday after the alleged assault was reported by the Ambulance Service. The scene was examined on Monday.
The male, who was in the company of a female at the time of the alleged assault, is said to be in a stable condition in hospital after sustaining a head injury.
Gardaí in Belmullet are appealing for witnesses who might have information in relation to the incident to contact the station on 097 81038.
