Mrs Catherine Coyne (nee O’Toole), Inishbofin, County Galway, who has died at the Nightingale Nursing Home in Ahascragh, was within a week of celebrating her 102nd birthday.
Her father, Michael O’Toole, was among the 37 people who died in the Cleggan sea disaster many years ago.
She was wife of the late Coleman Coyne and mother of Colum Coyne (Inishbofin), Augustine (Inishbofin), Irene (Inishbofin), Attracta (USA) and Margaret (Athenry). She is also mourned by her daughters-in-law, son-in-law, sister-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren,  nieces, nephews and many friends. Catherine was aunt of MΡire Griffith (Claregalway), Sal Staunton (Westport), Paddy O’Toole (Swinford) and Imelda Howard (Galway).
Removal was to St Coleman’s church, Inishbofin, and, following Requiem Mass, burial took place in St Coleman’s cemetery on the island.
May she rest in peace.
