Westport Plaza Hotel among top TripAdvisor hotels

“ABSOLUTELY superb … Sheer bliss …. If I could live here I would.” With reviews like that, it is no wonder that Westport’s Plaza Hotel is among the country’s top ten hotels according to the TripAdvisor 2012 Traveller Choice Awards. The four star hotel was selected as Ireland’s eighth best hotel in the recent awards, which are based on the ranking of unbiased holiday reviewers from across the world.
While the Plaza is the only Mayo hotel to make the top ten, its sister hotel, situated at the same resort, made number 21 in the Traveller Choice Awards, making it a double celebration for the Corcoran family.
Moreover, the Castlecourt Hotel was recently awarded four-star status by FΡilte Ireland.  
Responding to the accolade, Joe Corcoran, proprietor of the Plaza Hotel, said: “Needless to say we are thrilled to be ranked so favourably on the TripAdvisor Traveller Choice Awards as it is the primary outlet for those planning their holidays. All of the reviews are from guests who have experienced the resort first-hand so it’s a true reflection of their trip.”
Thanking all those happy visitors who took the time to review the hotel, Mr Corcoran said ‘continued investment and improvement is so important in all aspects of the hotel’. He stressed that the taking into account of ‘customer feedback’ was key to its success.
