A CLAREMORRIS man pleaded guilty to assault causing harm to his then two-year-old daughter at last week’s sitting of Castlebar Circuit Court.
The incident took place on May 30/31, 2010, at an address in Claremorris.
Ms Mary Rose Gearty SC for the man said that apart from the incident, her client had an otherwise exemplary history as a father to his children.
She said he has close ties with his children and asked for a probation report to be prepared before sentencing.
Judge Tony Hunt agreed that this was an unusual case and ordered the probation report before adjourning sentencing until January 16, 2012.
