Mary Davis all set for home county visit this Friday

Presidential candidate and former Mayo Person of the Year, Mary Davis, takes her campaign to her home county on Friday. It will be a nostalgic homecoming for Mary who will visit Kinaffe National School and St Louis Secondary School in Kiltimagh where she received her education in Mayo.
Mary, who was also honoured with the Irish person of the Year award in 2003, is a sister of former Mayo goalie Eugene Rooney who won a National League medal with Mayo in 1970 when they defeated Down in Croke Park. Eugene played for the county in three National League finals and also for Connacht in two Railway Cup finals. He has operated his own successful bar business in New York for many years.
She is expected to start off the day with an interview on the Tommy Marren Show on Mid West Radio. This will be followed by visits to Kiltimagh (10am), Kinafffe, Swinford (11.15am), Ballymote, Sligo, Ballina and Westport. Details of the travel arrangements will be carried on the Mid West Radio news bulletins throughout Friday.
Mayo campaign manager John Caulfield from Breaffy has called on the people of Mayo and the western region to give a big endorsement to Mary Davis. “She is an outstanding person and has always been a wonderful ambassador for this country. People in the west should connect with relations and friends around Ireland and ask them to row in behind Mary for this all important final ten days of the campaign. Let’s give her a great boost by giving her victory in the Mayo constituency and neighbouring ones as well.”
