The 16 Mayo candidates: Profiles on all General Election contestants

Alan Dillon (Fine Gael)

OCCUPATION: Public Representative
ELECTION CHANCES: Dillon has made huge strides since he caused an upset by ousting Lisa Chambers and taking a seat at the first time of asking in the 2020 election. It definitely took him at least two years to get a handle of what life is really like as a full-time public representative but he has now firmly estabhlished himself as a high-profile junior minister who is seen as 'the captain' of an inexperienced Fine Gael team. He should be re-elected but may have to patient as he is unlikely to reach the quota after the first count.
