ELECTION CHANCES: The founder of the Rural Ireland Organisation, which campaigns on issues affecting rural Ireland, was disappointed with his showing in the local elections but it has not put him off from running again. He built up his profile in the last 18 months with his successful campaign to save GP services in Lahardane and has also been active in campaigns of opposition to the Murrisk Greenway route and the Craggagh forestry. He will be hoping to build on the 574 votes he received in the 2020 General Election.
