CONSISTENT
TWO Mayo players have played every second of Mayo’s seven National League games.
Sam Callinan has been a beacon of consistency and a standard-bearer throughout the League.
Ryan O’Donogue is another who could be given the title of ‘Mr Consistent’. His tally of 1-31, which makes him comfortably Mayo’s top scorer, paints only a fraction of the story.
His ability to set up scores and sculpt moments of magic has been truly fulfilled, if it hadn’t been before, since he was stationed in the half-forward line.
Two other men have started every game.
Jack Carney has added two-pointers to his armoury this season, and his place as an asset on kick-outs, as well as chipping in with 1-10, makes him a vital asset.
Jordan Flynn, also started seven times and has plenty of strings to his bow.
He is ferocious and dogged, but describing him in such terms does a disservice to his abilities to take breathtaking scores and set up others for moments in the sun.
The only other man to play a part in every match was Aidan O’Shea. Starting in five and coming into the fray in two others.
