Two Mayo players have been named in the GAA.ie Team of The Week.
Ballina’s Sam Callinan and Kilmeena’s Jack Carney have both been named amongst the standout performers. In the final game of the league campaign, the Green and Red made light work of their Connacht neighbours, Roscommon as they ran out 4-26 to 2-11 winners.
Ballina man Callinan was crucial yet again as he played a big role in Mayo’s victory. The speedy defender was pivotal as his powerful running style worked to great effect.
Kilmeena’s Jack Carney also produced a fine performance as the wing-forward kicked 1-2 in the win.
With Mayo finishing in third position, Andy Moran’s side narrowly lost out on a league final spot. Next up for Mayo is a Connacht championship opener with London in Ruislip. That clash will take place on Saturday, April 11.
