Questions raised over wheelchair access to Mayo GAA home venue

It passed most people by on Sunday, but the overcrowding in the area designated for wheelchair supporters in Hastings Insurance MacHale Park was worrying.

Mayo GAA are currently working on constructing a new area for those with accessibility challenges, but utter urgency must be brought to this before the problem gets even bigger.

What happens if the lift fails in an emergency situation and these fervent supporters are marooned high up at the back of the stand?
