MARK MORAN
What a debut this man made.
Mark Moran was one of the names of the 2020 Mayo club Championship. In the sky blue of Westport, the flowing-haired forward was instrumental as the Clew Bay soldiers forayed deep into the race for the Moclair Cup.
Such incredible displays caught the eye of James Horan, who welcomed him into the fold.
Due to Covid-19, one of the peculiarities of the 2020 campaign was that the inter-county season came after the club campaign had wrapped up, offering players a chance to impress their county management.
Moran was handed the chance of a start in a visit to Tuam Stadium to face Galway in the National League, and boy, did he deliver.
A three-pointer ten minutes in, mere moments after his first point for the visitors, proved the dream start, while he also set up Conor Loftus for a major, as well as raising another white flag.
Moran's appearances in inter-county fare became limited in the seasons that followed, although he has since featured prominently in the club scene, including in the 2025 county final after returning from injury.
