It was a successful start for Andy Moran into his term as Mayo senior football manager.

The men in green and red overcame a had-working Sligo team in the FBD League opener on Saturday, thanks to a late surge. 

Goalkeeper Robbie Hennelly made a remarkable return, contributing two two-point frees as well.

We took a closer look at the shot statistics of the game. 

In total, Mayo showed a decent shot efficiency, making 14 out of 27 attempts.

That's a 52 per cent shot efficiency over the whole game.

Mayo didn't take many shots in the first half, but they were very efficient from beyond the two-point arc.

Three successful long range attempts out of five attempts are a decent haul. 

In the second half, Mayo would get more scoring chances from mid-range, especially in their late burst with six scores in the final six minutes:
