Those who watch Mayo club football closely will say that the most difficult of all championships to predict is the one where the Pete McDonnell Cup is handed out to the victors.
The excitement, exhilaration, and unbridled raw emotion of junior football makes the race for the title unpredictable and memorable every single year.
This season was a rollicking roller-coaster from beginning to end with tight finishes, shock results and historic revivals decorating the race before Kiltimagh got their hands on the big silver cup.
The fact that the champions (and subsequent Connacht kings) won the spoils is itself a stunning story after they only qualified for the quarter-finals on scoring difference. That shows how well-contested the race for the title was.
