All through the Mayo GAA season, there are many important Sundays on parks and pitches across the county.
However, on Sunday next one of the most important events of the calendar, away from the big crowds and the floodlights, will take place in the Saint John Centre, Knock.
When the club delegates and the Executive gather, there will be plenty on the agenda.
Here, we'll run you through the motions that will be brought to the floor.
One of the most interesting is from Aghamore, who will propose the introduction of a preliminary quarter-final in the senior and intermediate championships.
The proposal would see the first-placed teams in all four groups advance to a home quarter-final, as in 2025.
However, the other last-eight sides would be determined by a game between second and third-placed teams, akin to that seen in the Galway championships.
Two motions from Westport, are likely to draw interest. Motion 2 suggests that any club with over 75 registered adult playing members be permitted to enter a 'B' team into the Intermediate Championship if their 'A' side is in the Senior grade.
The categorisation of players as 'A' and 'B' players would be determined by a list submitted to the county board after the end of the league, according to Motion 3.
In 2024, a motion from Westport to allow teams that win the Premier Junior 'A' Championship enter the following year’s Exclusive Junior Championship was defeated.
The next motion also comes from Westport, and proposes that all clubs be permitted to record their own games for the sole purpose of analysing the game internally, regardless of if the game is streamed or televised.
Three motions from Hollymount-Carramore relate to the removal of the small arc and the incorrect awarding of scores.
Motion Six proposes that an additional rule be added, stating the following:
‘Video evidence, when clear, reliable and unedited, can be relied upon when presented as part of an objection, to prove that a score should be awarded and recorded correctly in accordance with RULE 7 – SCORES and sub-rule 3.1 of the Official Guide (An Treoraí Oifigiúil) – Part 2
(i.e – if video evidence clearly proves that a score should be awarded and recorded as a one point score in accordance with Rule 3.1, but it was awarded and recorded as a two point score in error, then, on objection and submission of clear, reliable and unedited video evidence, the score will be amended accordingly. The same rule to apply to the application of all scores)’.
Kiltimagh have tabled a motion proposing the introduction of a Senior and Intermediate 'B' competition for sides who fail to make the quarter-finals of each competition.
They have also tabled a motion proposing a new championship for players who have not played senior, intermediate, or junior championship to be run on alternative free weekends during the summer in 2026.
Motion Four, from Crossmolina Deel Rovers, proposes that the Premier Junior Championships be played in August and September on alternate weekends to the senior, intermediate, and junior competitions.
Davitts have tabled a motion which suggests that Central Council review the maximum payout of €5,500 in the Injury Benefit Fund. The motion suggests that the amount no longer reflects the cost of treating serious injuries.
Another motion from Davitts proposes the return of quarter-finals in the Junior B Championship to give more players an opportunity for playing time.
Lastly, Motion 13 from Kilmovee Shamrocks requests that the County Board issue a formal communication to all clubs on the application of Rule 20, which revolves around players playing for the club of their home parish.
