Mayo man raises significant funds for children's charity

Garrymore GAA Senior team manager, Fintan Forde, has raised an impressive €5,670 for the Cancer Fund for Children, a charity that supports young people and families affected by cancer across Ireland. 

Fintan, who co-manages Garrymore alongside Tony Corcoran, took on the challenge of the Dublin City Marathon this October to raise vital funds for the organisation. He recently presented the cheque to Mary McHugh Murphy, Regional Fundraising Officer with Cancer Fund for Children, alongside his family.

Cancer Fund for Children provides emotional, social, and therapeutic support to children and young people impacted by cancer across Ireland.

This support is provided in the family home, in hospital, and at the charity’s short break centre, Daisy Lodge in Newcastle, Co. Down. Due to growing demand, the charity is building a second Daisy Lodge on the shores of Lough Corrib in Cong, Co. Mayo.
