The closed season has already seen a raft of managers depart Mayo GAA clubs.

This week, two more have headed for the exit door, as the off-season sees a raft of new faces needed in roles.

First up is Eastern Gaels. The management team of John Hickey and Paul Hickey have decided to step away from the dugout in the wake of their loss to Kiltimagh in the Junior final.

The pair ascended to the helm in 2023 and had plenty of success as the club ascended to be one of the top sides in their grade.

Most notably, the Brickens boys went on a historic run this campaign, making it all the way to their first county final in their history.

"Beyond the results, Paul and John have helped foster a real sense of belief, unity, and pride within the group and across the parish," a statement read.
"Their hard work behind the scenes and unwavering support for the players and management have played a huge part in the progress our Junior Team has made.
"Everyone at Eastern Gaels GAA is deeply grateful for everything you have both done to help bring the club forward and lay the foundations for even greater days ahead."
Another Junior club who will have a fresh face in charge for 2026 is Bonniconlon.
The club confirmed on social media that Robert McLoughlin, along with his backroom team of Vincent McDonnell, Daniel Cunningham, and Kevin Ginley, would be stepping down.
Bonniconlon were seen as one of the favourites to go on and lift the Pete McDonnell Cup in 2025 after their loss in the 2024 decider, but exited the race at the semi-finals this time around.
"We wish to thank Nobby and his outgoing team for all their commitment and hard work over the past two seasons," the club stated on social media.
