Charlestown Sarsfields have announced that their senior men's manager, David Tiernan, has stepped away from the role.
Tiernan took the reins in East Mayo at the start of the 2025 campaign, succeeding Stephen Healy.
The club legend has represented the club in many facets, including as captain across an illustrious playing career.
His management team, which comprised Michael Horkan, Francis Mannion, Patrick Walsh, Phillip Craig, Shane Moran and Lewis O’Connor, have also vacated their roles.
This season, the Sarsfields finished ninth in Division 1A, going winless until the final game of the campaign against Ardnaree Sarsfields.
Under Tiernan's tutelage, the men from Father O'Hara Park put in some solid performances but finished bottom of Group Three after a last-day loss to Claremorris.
However, they did enough to retain their senior status by dispatching Mayo Gaels in Claremorris, securing their place in the joust for the Moclair Cup in 2026.
"We wish to sincerely thank David for all his work with the team last season and in preserving our senior status for next year's championship," a statement on the club's social media read.
"A legendary and inspirational player and captain for the club, David brought the same leadership qualities and commitment to his role as senior manager, stepping in to take on the role when the club needed it most."
The club also announced that the process to appoint a successor will commence in due course.
