A multiple Mayo Senior Club Championship-winning manager has added a Leitrim title to his ever-growing list of accolades over the weekend.
Former Ballintubber bainisteoir Kevin Johnson was part of the backroom team as Leitrim Gaels made history in winning their first ever Fenagh Cup, dispatching Ballinamore in an emphatic final quarter to spark wild scenes in Carrick-on-Shannon.
The final win in Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada means that Johnson has been part of the coaching set-up of county title winning teams in four different Connacht counties.
On top of his part in Ballintubber's halcyon days, where they scaled the mountaintop in 2018 and 2019, the Sligo native also won a title in his home county with Tourlestrane in 2021, as well as Galway titles with Corofin in 2023 and 2024.
In 2026, he will take the reins of the Galway Under-20s, replacing Derek Savage.
