Moy Davitts 2-18

Hollymount-Carramore 2-14

The crucial score of the game came on 54 minutes when Colm McHale saw his effort for a point come off the upright only for an alert Brian Heneghan to gather the rebound and coolly slotted the ball past the Holly'-Carra' keeper.

Cian McHale then added a two-pointer and Conor Reid fisted another score to put the game beyond doubt.

The Moysiders made it two from two and looked likely to top their group, securing a home quarter-final.

Their biggest scorer was Cian McHale with 0-6 to his name.

Paul McGarry's men had started their championship campaign perfectly.

David Byrne and Colm McHale were rewarded with an inclusion in the Mayo News team of the week.
