Damien Egan's men were asked serious questions by Kilmaine but responded brilliantly and put the game to bed early enough.

The collective strength of Kilmeena was once again on view when the home side powered past Kilmaine and booked a place in the intermediate semi-final.

Kevin Ryder and Mayo footballer Jack Carney did their stuff in the middle while Liam Moore, Jack Mulchrone and John McGlynn scored points in crucial situations.

Kilmeena were the more balanced outfit as they had seven different scorers, while Kilmaine's 12 points all came thanks to the boot of Adam Barrett.

The semi-final against Kiltane beckoned for Kilmeena next.
