Three Mayo hurling stars are toasting prestigious honours today (Tuesday, October 14) after being included in the GAA's 'Champion 15' Team of the Year.
The accolades from the game's governing body aim to champion those shining the brightest in their county colours around the country outside of the All-Ireland and Joe McDonagh Series.
Mayo's representatives have been included in the selection on the back of the county's impressive 2025 campaign, which saw them capture league honours and make it all the way to the Nicky Rackard Cup final.
First is Tooreen clubman Oisín Greally. Greally was in inspired form across the season, driving the Green and Red forward from defence and is a worthy inclusion.
Included in the midfield pairing is Greally's fellow clubman, Daniel Huane. Huane is another who impressed throughout the most recent season, lording the skies and serving as a heartbeat for Ray Larkin's charges.
Last, but certainly not least, is Liam Lavin. This man was a dangerman from his first game of the campaign to the last, and was the chief scoregetter on many an occasion for Mayo, making him more than deserving of the number 15 spot.
The awards will be presented at a glamorous function in Croke Park this Friday, October 17. The event will be live-streamed on the GAA's YouTube channel.
