Ballaghaderreen GAA club have confirmed that their Senior manager, Patrick Sharkey, will be stepping down from the job in the wake of their Mayo Senior Championship exit.
Sharkey vacates the dugout of his hometown club after spending one season at the helm of the side.
The báinisteoir, who lined out between the sticks for many seasons for the Easterners, took over from Kiltimagh man Tomás Morley.
In his sole season as manager of his hometown side, Ballaghaderreen secured the Division Two League title before going unbeaten in their championship group.
Their season ended at the last-eight stage after they were beaten by reigning champions, Ballina Stephenites.
In a statement on their social media, the club extended their thanks to Sharkey for his time in the role and wished him the best in his future endeavours.
