KILMEENA V KILTANE

Forwards needed to rise

The absence of Kiltane’s Josh Carey is simply monumental. The fact that the full-forward is suspended for this tie is a massive blow for the Erris men but there is no doubt Shane Lindsay will be confident others can step up to the mark in the absence of their talisman.

A member of this year’s Mayo U-20 squad, Carey is a real classy forward, a confident kicker who knows where the posts are. He’s been lighting it up in the scoring department this season but after his red card against Cill Chomáin, he's forced to watch on from the sidelines.

Tommy Conroy, Ultan Corrigan and Mikie Sweeney are hugely experienced forwards and Carey and Lindsay will be hoping that their experience counts on the scoreboard come Sunday.
