The Mayo Club Football Championships are still in full swing, but those looking for their fix of inter-county football in the county will have to wait a bit less to see the Green and Red in action, as it has been confirmed that the FBD League is set to return for 2026.
The competition was shelved for the 2025 campaign, with concerns surrounding player welfare cited.
Now, GAA aficionados will be putting on their new jackets from under the Christmas tree and braving the Winter chill, as teams bid to win the Paddy Francis Dwyer Cup.
Conversations are also underway in the other provinces to return pre-season competitions to the calendar.
Mayo have won eight crowns in the competition's history, with the last victory coming in 2023.
The competition will run in January of next year, with the format and the draw setup yet to be confirmed.
