The Mayo LGFA Minor championship finals were blessed with beautiful weather on Sunday.
The sun shone once again in Bekan, at the Connacht Centre of Excellence, as a brilliant crowd gathered to witness an unforgettable day of football.
Across all divisions, the atmosphere was electric, with families, supporters, and clubs turning out in force to celebrate the next generation of players.
The Minor A Championship Cup winners Claremorris
Cup Final: Claremorris 2-14, MacHale Rovers 0-16
Claremorris claimed a historic three-in-a-row Minor A Cup titles, led by captain Isobel Philips who proudly lifted the Cup. Their opponents, MacHale Rovers, fielded a very young side who gave a proud account of themselves.
Only promoted from Division 2 this year, their achievement in reaching the Cup Final was remarkable in itself. This was a high-quality final where little separated the teams at the finish, with Claremorris showing their resilience and experience to edge through.
Minor A Championship Shield winners: Kilmovee Shamrocks
Shield Final: Kilmovee Shamrocks 2-09, Balla 1-09
A goal separated these sides at the death after a thrilling, end-to-end contest. Balla pushed Kilmovee all the way, but it was the Shamrocks who had the extra reserves in the closing stages. Lightening fast Searlaith Dillon was named Player of the Match, while Hannah Moynihan lifted the Shield as captain.
Minor B Championship Cup winner:
Moy Davitts captain Carla Ruane with the trophy
Cup Final: Moy Davitts 5-04, Kilmoremoy 2-12
A breath-taking contest saw Moy Davitts and Kilmoremoy deliver one of the most entertaining finals of the day. The game was an absolute thriller, played at a ferocious pace, with end-to-end action from start to finish.
Ultimately, just a single point separated the sides at the death, as Moy Davitt's captain, Carla Ruane, claimed the Cup after a titanic battle. Player of the match was awarded to Ella Coleman for her outstanding workrate in midfield.
Minor B Championship Shield winners: Breaffy
Shield Final: Breaffy 2-14, Carnacon 3-07
Neighbours Breaffy and Carnacon went head-to-head in a hugely entertaining game that had the crowd on their feet.
It was end-to-end football with momentum swinging throughout, but Breaffy’s finishing power proved decisive. Marie-Claire O’Grady took the Player of the Match award, while Katie Moran proudly accepted the Shield.
Cup Final: Hollymount 5-14, Aghamore 4-13
The C Cup was a masterclass in shooting prowess, with both Hollymount and Aghamore showcasing relentless hard work and attacking flair.
Notably, while sharpshooter Emma Stagg remains sidelined as she continues her rehabilitation from an ACL injury sustained last autumn, her absence was ably covered by her younger sister Chloe Stagg, who produced a sensational performance, amassing four goals amongst her tally.
Aoife McHugh was also superb at mid-field earning Player of the Match, while Lauren Flynn lifted the Cup as captain.

Shield Final: Belmullet 3-08, Davitts 2-09
This was another pulsating contest, with just a goal between the sides at half-time and the same margin remained at the final whistle. Áine Monaghan was exquisite in defence for Belmullet, earning Player of the Match honours, while captain Mallaidh Lavelle accepted the Shield.

as her team clinched the Minor D Championship Cup
Cup Final: Ballinrobe 5-16, Ballyhaunis 4-01
Ballinrobe produced a clinical display in front of the posts, finishing with a superb tally of 5-16. Ballyhaunis, a very young side, took time to settle but grew into the game and gave a much stronger account of themselves in the second half posting an additional 10 points on the board. For Ballinrobe, Aoibhe Cummins shone in midfield to claim Player of the Match, while captain Emily Jennings lifted the Cup.
Minor D Championship Shield winners: Shrule/Glencorrib
Shield Final: Shrule Glencorrib 3-06, Achill 0-11
A single point separated two excellent sides at the break but Shrule Glencorrib were on a mission and they found the extra edge in the second half. A day to remember for Shrule Glencorrib, as they secured their first-ever piece of silverware at minor grade, a truly historic moment for the club. Fittingly, captain Eda Hyland also earned the Player of the Match award for her inspirational performance.
