The man between the sticks produced some key moments against Breaffy and rightly deserves this. Midway through the first innings, Davitt Neary had the ball on the turf and lashed for the far corner, and a superb outstretched leg from Byrne was enough to deny him.
He was also steady on kickouts and did everything right on the shooting front to put Breaffy under the cosh. Levelled proceedings at the death.
